With a conventional stored pressure FM-200 system, the design of some systems could be very challenging due to the distance between the position where the FM-200 container would be remotely stored and the hazard to be protected. The main cause of this problem is generally the amount of nitrogen pressure available in a conventional stored pressure FM-200 container. However, FM-200 Piston Flow Clean Agent Fire Suppression System can discharge FM-200 agent within 10 seconds over long distances by providing additional nitrogen from support cylinder and preventing rapid decline of pressure within the FM-200 container head space. This new technology is designed to make possible longer distances, between the storage container room and the areas that require fire protection. The system is intended for total flooding application covering multiple and long-distance protected areas. The system enables design of up to 122m (400ft) piping for protected areas and is a highly configurable system which can save significant equipment costs by installing a single system to help protect against multiple hazards. The system is designed to provide a reliable, fast acting, clean agent solution that is safe for use in occupied spaces. The system is environmentally friendly with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP).
